Selection procedure for posters submitted to YIA and prize

• The selection will be done by a panel of at least 4 people, normally members of the SFRRE/SFRRI committees.

• Each poster will be marked by at least 2 experts on the basis of the following criteria:
- work originality, innovation and impact
- relevance for the free radical research area
- the poster and presentation have been carefully prepared, using appropriate and high quality visual means
- there is a clear conclusion or take home message at the end
- the ability to communicate clearly in English

Award winners receive a certificate at the Awards Ceremony during each Annual SFRR-E Meeting and there is also an associated financial award, although it comes with provisos. The total value of the award is 800 Euros, and it will be paid next year after attendance at the annual SFRR-Europe conference. There will be an Oral Presentation session dedicated to previous year’s Young Investigator Award Winners, at which awardees give a short slot (usually 10 mins) to present their research. This can be an update of the research presented in a poster the previous year, or a new area so long as it is still within the remit of the Society.

Normally, the registration fee for next year’s meeting is waived for the Young Investigator Award Winners, and they should be able to register as an Invited Speaker. Awardees should contact the conference organizers well in advance of the deadline for Abstract submission next year, in order to confirm that this option is available. If so, the remainder of the 800 Euros after subtraction of the Early bird SFRRE student registration fee will be paid to awardees by bank transfer after the Conference.

In case the Invited Speaker registration option is not possible, the full 800 Euros will be paid to awardees by bank transfer after the Conference.

Please note that the following conditions apply:
