The SFRR-E ECR subcommittee is responsible for organizing events at the SFRR-E Annual Meeting that are targeted to ECRs. The events aim to provide networking opportunities for ECRS and to provide avenues to interact with senior members of the community, to receive input and suggestions related to their work and future career progression. The ECR subcommittee aims to improve on the conference experience for new members of the community and to host events aiming to cover the need of ECRs.

First in Ghent in 2022 and then in Vienna in 2023, the ECR subcommittee organized the ECR Networking Event. The event, exclusive for ECR members of our community, provides the opportunity for young researchers who may not have an established network in our society to meet like-minded people. In a friendly and fun environment, with the help of the now famous ECR subcommittee stickers, groups of people come together and start their own networks and journey as members of the SFRR-E community. The event will continue to take place in the annual meetings.

For the first time in 2023, the SFRR-E ECR subcommittee organized the meet the profession session. This was a fun event, where ECRs had been able to submit their questions to established members of our community and could hear their answers live. Then they had an avenue to interact further with the established members of our community.
